Just when you thought it would never be seen at The State, we’re bringing the original Rocky Horror Picture Show to the theater for our first-ever night of outdoor projection dubbed Cult Classics After Dark. That’s right, outdoors! We’re projecting Rocky Horror on the south wall of the theater at 11 p.m. and you’re invited to bring your lawn chair and park it for a drive-in experience like no other. We’ll have food, cocktails and a wait staff to serve you while you watch this low-budget freak show cult classic/cultural institution set in the Transylvanian castle of mad scientist and transvestite Dr. Frank-N-Furter (Tim Curry). When the car of lovers Janet (Susan Sarandon) and Brad (Barry Bostwick) breaks down on a rainy night, the good doctor offers them shelter from the storm, and introduces them to a bacchanalian collection of partygoers dressed in outfits from some sort of interplanetary gift shop. Will Janet and Brad be Dr. Frank-N-Furter’s next victims (he’s been known to kill) or serve as his carnal delights? You may already know the answer, but the fun is in the costumes, the craziness and the audience partici~SAY IT!~pation.
If you’re a virgin (meaning you’ve never seen the film), learn more at www.rockyhorror.com/participation/virgins.php. Spoiler alert: The biker (Meat Loaf) dies in the end! Seating is limited to 200 so buy your tickets in advance!
